So, this weekend I had dinner with Aaron on Friday, saw my brother in the pub on Saturday afternoon, went shopping in central London with Aaron, then went to Jenny's new flat and then went home. Met Charlie for breakfast on Sunday morning, went to her office and dug through old clothes and found a my little pony pillow, went home, went to meet charlie at Balham Station, and then went to see Jenny again.
Then Charlie and I went back to her house, cooked and ate dinner (including oysters..! yum!) Dyed Charlies hair and made some hair cutting amendments on mine....What a weekend. And still no alcohol!! Wooo.
On Saturday morning I managed to tidy up my room and put 2 washes in, so that's two things ticked off my list. I haven't managed to label my work clothes, but I will have this sorted when I come back to work - so that's my home goals.
I did yoga on Monday evening and this morning, went to a exercise class last night. I won't be going to a class this evening, but tomorrow evening instead. I bought lunch on Monday at Yo Sushi, and have had home made lunches for the last two days, so I am slowly but surely reaching my goals...Well at least all my health goals, and my work goals.
My money goals still need improving, I haven't given any money to my mum yet, so I shall do this tomorrow after work, I also need to call Natwest and make some payments today. I think my the end of the week I will have achieved 80% or more, and that will be an achievement. Then I get my prizes!! :D

Do you know how long it's been since I posted? Do you........erm an awful long time. Sorry about that. I've obviously let myself down..! The last time I posted was in May, that's er lets see 7 months ago! More than half a year. I must apologise to all my loyal fans who must have been literally dieing for an update..ha.
So I suppose I'd better start with a quick update. I am still working at Durrington, I passed my probationary period and got a further £2k increase in salary, which I am very happy with, and I hope to get another in May!
I've just been reading over my last blogs, and laughing so much. That's cheered me up, oh yes.
There's lots more to update on, Aaron (who was my boyfriend of 6 years) and I have split up. I feel sad and happy at the same time. It was me who did the splitting up and I immediately regretted it, but we both know for now (and maybe even forever) it is the right thing.
Not much seemed to happen over the summer, I was drunk and high most of the time, thus it passed by like a dream (as did my money.) I had a very good birthday party, went to Dour Festival in Europe somewhere (don't ask me, I just get confused between Brussels and Belgium), Bestival Festival on the Isle of White and on holiday to Italy. All in all possibly a very exciting summer, which I am glad to have photographed just for remembering purposes.
Right then, lets get up to speed now, I am currently living at my mums, I am single, working, still trying to loose weight and get fit and healthily and need to control my spending. I miserably failed at passing/doing my Open University course, because (although starting off very well and getting high marks) I ended up taking the wrong book on holiday to study and thus fucked it up royally, got very behind, made excuses and gave up, I must say in true Katie style.
And then all of a sudden here I was thinking, fuck I really have to get my shit together, what shall I do? I'll write myself some goals down for next week. Having completely forgot about this blog.
I must point out that since I started my this blog, and whilst not writing on it, I have successfully lost a stone and 1lb. How amazing, although I was aware of my weight, I was not aware that I had lost such a vast amount in 7 months.
I have also paid of the £8k loan that Egg stupidly lent me at the tender age of 18, and now only have 2 credit cards to pay off and a laptop loan (all 3 I am planning to pay of sharpish.)
Here I was thinking I hadn't achieved anything. Oh yes and I failed to mention that I have given up getting high and drinking. Wooohooo. Being sober for this long (nearly 8 weeks) is strange, but well worth it.
Here are my goals for next week....
Week starting 15/12/2008
Health – prize – a facial!!
· Loose 2lbs; eat healthily and do more exercise.
· Go to 3 exercise classes; Tues, Wed, Sat.
· Do yoga 3 times; Mon, Wed, Sun.
· Take more care of what I am eating; take lunch in and plan dinner.
Work – prize – good feedback!
· Leave the house an hour before I am due at work; go to bed by 23.00, wake up at 5.30 AM every day. Have clothes and bag organised.
· Take lunch in for 4 days; make on Sunday’s and freeze/refrigerate.
· Finish “important information” cover sheets.
Money – prize – a dress from eBay!
· Pay back mum all owed money; take out on Monday.
· Work out debts and a tackle plan; call up Abby, MBNA and HSC to see full amounts due. Get Aaron and me to commit to a direct debit plan.
· Stick to budgets for xmas; work out list.
Home – prize – something new for my room!
· Organise bedroom and clothes; throw out unwanted/used things, move pink chest next to window and remove chair, stack boxes. Put pink chest to good use.
· Get washing done; wash work clothes first, fun clothes 2nd and then leftovers!
· Organise clothes for work; wash, iron, hang and label days.
So, hopefully I will get around 80% or more of the above achieved, I really want to, and to be honest need to so that I can start feeling like I am achieving again.
I will also do a review of my long term goals and goals for next year (gosh, how exciting, eh?)

I also did the race for life for Cancer Research on the 7 of May - and achieved the 5 km in 38 minutes....yes that's just over 7 and a half minutes per km or 12 min per mile. I am very proud, and even more impressed with the £215 I managed to raise (not including tax savings of around £60!)
What else, what else.? I jumped on the scales at the gym on Tuesday, more slumped as I was expecting to have put weight on, but I actually have lost about 3 lbs, so I am very happy. I've been telling myself keep up the good work. I don't know what the good work was.
I have also started a degree with the Open University and handed in my first essay this Monday. God it was hard! Active reading and taking notes is definitely not in my brain any longer, and trying to pick it up again is hard. A big hooray for all adult learners, as it must be even harder for you (yes I am an adult, but have been in education recently!)
A quick overview of what I have achieved
A new position
Started a degree; handed in an essay
Ran a race; 12 minutes per mile
I think I am going to recruit a personal trainer so I can shift some more weight this year.
Be back soon!!

I've got a new job! Well subject to references, but yes, a new job! I am feeling very happy and proud about the new job and now I am looking for some nice suits and new clothes to go with it.
I am going to be a assistant PA for a investment company, close to Hyde Park. It's what I have been looking for and will be hard work, yet definitely worth it!!
I have also dramatically cut down on my alcohol in take and have only had 3 vodkas this whole weekend, and 5 last weekend! I am very proud and feeling great!
On 7th May I will be running the Cancer Research Race for Life in Battersea Park. I have been training for a week, although I missed my run today as I had a stomach bug yesterday. I will be making it up tomorrow, which means 4 running sessions in a week, I'm sure it is achievable.
I'm working towards and have even made some good goals, and I am only in the 4th month of the year. Surprisingly I don't even feel like I have achieved that much! LOL!
My new job and my open uni degree start in May, so I will be very busy. The challenge will be getting to the gym and being organised enough to eat healthily, or at all. I am looking forward t what's in the near future!

I ate a WHOLE Easter egg, yes a whole Easter egg. It made me feel sick and then I was late for work, oh clever Katie, trying to loose 6 pounds a month and eating a whole Easter egg.
Here's the science bit....
So, to loose 6 pounds in a week I would have to burn 21000 kcal! I naturally burn 15400 kcal a week which means I then have to burn an extra 5600 kcal, not including food that I will be eating. Hmmmmm, so I will actually need to burn around 15000 kcal in one week or 2150 in a day.
Is this possible? That would mean 18 sessions of 45 minute cardio workouts. Which would mean 1 hr 50 mins at the gym everyday of cardio. Can I do it?
Well lets see, if I walk to and from work everyday, that burns 266 kcal. That just leaves 1884 to go! 636 kcal for 45 mins of spinning, totalling at 902. Which leaves 1218 to go, so 30 minutes on a cross trainer, gives me 1,378 k cal burnt, and then I have 778 to go. I could walk uphill for about 45 mins or carry on the cross trainer, or do running for 50 minutes and then I would be done. So lets just look over that.
Walking, 60 mins (outside the gym, easy peasy)
Spinning, 45 mins (in a class, also easy peasy)
Cross Trainer, 30 mins (not so hard)
Running Machine. around 50 mins (oh my god!)
TOTAL in gym = 2 hrs 5 mins. It could be worth it.
But lets half it, and try to loose 3 lbs next week! Wooo. I'm really going for it now. Yes I am.
That would mean
Walking, 60 mins (outside the gym, easy peasy)
Spinning, 45 mins (in a class, also easy peasy)
Cross Trainer, 15 mins (easy)
Running Machine. around 25 mins (could be worse)
Don't forget this is everyday. That means no other life. I must sleep, eat, wash, think, love gym.
Now, is there a spinning class everyday,
Mon - Y - 19.35 - do other cardio before hand
Tues - Y - 7.15 - do other workout in the evening
Wed - Y - 18.30 - do other cardio before hand
Thur - Y - 7.00 - do other workout in the evening
Fri - Y - 18.00 - do workout afterwards
Sat - Y - 9.45 or 10.45 - do workout before hand
Sun - Y - 10.30 or 11.15 - I could do both at the same time and other workout afterwards.
Can I do it?
I'm not sure.

I haven't been accurately weighing my food, although not always with weighing scales as I haven't been carrying them to work with me - which is where I eat most of my food. But I have been measuring in tablespoons, and teaspoons and cups.
Alcohol hasn't touched my lips once all week! Although I will be drinking on Friday night and smoking the free cigarettes that Leon gave me I hope to not get too pissed and actually see some of Manchester on Saturday and Sunday...
So, goal wise I am fine and I am feeling very happy with myself - especially as I get to reap the benefits of coming home early on Sunday to see Aaron, getting a pedicure next week and going for a nice coffee!
Looking forward to setting some new goals next week and having the bank holiday!
Monday, 10 March 2008
I had a good weekend this weekend! Woo. I watched flight of the con chords for the first time on Friday night, which oddly enough was playing in my gym (well the music from it was - very odd to be playing in the gym!) and then Leon brought it over to watch!
I went to RPM after work on Friday, and then Aaron meet me and we went to Sainsbury's and bought lovely meat, crisps, anchovies, nuts, bread etc and had a bit of a picnic at home which was fun.
It was an intention to go to the gym on Saturday morning, but alas I didn't go as I did have a bit of a headache so I basically stayed in bed after the Tesco shopping got delivered at 9AM. Then in the evening I then went to Brad and Hayley's to eat Mexican, drink cocktails and play Wii. It was fun and I didn't drink tooo much so I am very pleased with myself.
I got up around 11 on Saturday morning, did my washing and tidied my room. Martine the life coach came around at about 2.30 and we went through a lot of things, and made my first goal, Duh dah which is
To have a BMI (body mass index) of 25 by 15th September 2008.
I am looking forward to this goal and it means I would need to weigh around 9 stone 6 lbs. That means loosing 3 stone 1 lb, which works out at around 6lbs a month to loose. Which I hope is realistic! With this main goal in consideration I decided on 3 mini goals to concentrate on this week to get to my main goal;
to measure/weigh portions accordingly and count everything in for points
to go to the gym for at least 5 sessions this week
to drink alcohol in moderation
each of these actions have deadlines, support needed and rewards. As these are short time goals for the time being, the gym plan and alcohol will last for the week and then the weighing/portion size for two weeks.
The 15th September is a good date for me as this is when my father passed away. I think this should motivate me to be able to loose the weight as I feel it would make him proud for me to be looking after my health.
I've ordered some mini weighing scales (for food) on eBay today, and I will carry them around everywhere if I have to!
This evening I plan to make chicken noodle soup, and some other meals to freeze so that I have healthy homemade ready meals for lunch and dinner in the freezer!
Wednesday, 27 February 2008
That means doing at least 45 mins aerobic exercise 5 times a week and 2 body pump classes. I am not going to make a timetable as I think it will make me stick to the plan less.
I am going to carry on with 20 points a day on WW - or average of 140 a week, so if I want to move some to another day then I can.
Mainly Wednesday and Sundays will be my day off, so that I can rest my muscles! Although I do plan to do some walking on these days to keep my fitness levels up!
I am going to start this plan on Monday 3rd March! Wish me luck!
Results will be recorded here!

Find a creative outlet and course to go with it
Keep on going to the gym
Stop drinking for the meantime
I have finally found that creative outlet and its called monster kids! Its with my mates and we will be meeting up weekly to work on whatever we need to work on. Not only does this provide a great reason to go every week but good input on what you are making or doing and good advice.
I went to the gym 4 times last week, to ab attack and body pump on Monday, and body pump and spinning on Friday. Granted I did not do as much aerobic exercise I would like - but at least I went!
I didn't stop drinking last week, and had a glass of wine on Tuesday night and a couple of glasses on Friday night, along with some whisky's and even a glass on Sunday! Not doing so well you say?
Well I am trying! I am going to Balham this evening and will not be drinking - as I plan to go to the gym in the morning to do body pump in the morning and after work to do group cycle.
Some things that I would also like to do this year are;
Run a 5km marathon
Do an extreme sport
Apparently a 5km marathon takes 8 weeks to train for, so if I sign up for one in September that gives me plenty of time, and I do plan to do it! I think I will start training in June!
As for an extreme sport I mean sky diving, bungee jumping, rock climbing, or hang gliding. I think I will do hang gliding, it looks the easiest and most fun!!
Thats it for now - over and out!!
This weekend started on the 22nd February. Well really the 21st February, I went round to my friend Laurens house and we made monster teddy's - and I nearly finished my kitty. It was so cool and didn't take me as long as I thought it would! I also feel a big sense of achievement as I get the chance to do something creative and build up my portfolio.
Friday I had some friends round for dinner and cooked seafood spaghetti, and for pudding we all made our own mars bars wrapped in filo pastry and they were tasty! I then went to the railway for a drink and then to a mates in Balham until about 4am! A good time was had and I am glad I didn't get tooooo drunk!
On Saturday we went for breakfast at this cool American dinner type place where you can choose and cut your own bread and then toast it on your table. I had my bread with a lovely chicken and vegetable soup. I also bought some plastic boxes to store some stuff in for the cellar.
Saturday night we chilled out and watched Highlander, which I have never seen before, it was actually cool! And had bacon sarnies and an early night to prepare for Sunday.
Aaron and I got up at 6.30am on Sunday and made our way to Clapham Junction to go to Go Ape which I have to say was very fun and worth the scariness and money! And it helped me work towards my fitness goals, and gave me a sense of achievement.
I was achy on Monday and now its Tuesday and I am going for my induction at the gym this evening and then to Balham for drinks....
Sunday, 17 February 2008
I did bag up some old clothes and will be leaving them out tomorrow morning for help the aged, and put a wash in. That's about all I have done in the terms on tidying.
The article that I am writing about perfumes and chemical allergies, is becoming rather large but I am very pleased with it and glad that I have the ability to put passion into the things I believe in!
Friday, 15 February 2008
I feel great, although a bit tired and achy going to the gym has done me a world of good.
I had a wonderful valentines last night, Aaron bought me some flowers and I even managed to go to the gym in the morning, which was a good thing as I had lovely ice cream for pudding!!
I started looking into Graphic Design courses, as I think this is what I would like to go into. I made Aaron's valentines card and thought, I really enjoy doing stuff like this, so obviously that is something creative I can get into.
This evening I am going to go to the gym and do a spinning class, and then get ready to go to El Rincon Latina on Clapham Manor Street, SW4. I love this place, and am looking forward to some tasty food.
Aaron will be working tomorrow, so if I am not to achy I plan to go to the gym before the afternoon and do some more research in the afternoon. Reading my Open Uni information has to now go at the top of my list, along with arranging a desk to study on!
Tidying my room is a must! I have already given an old bag of clothes to the Age Concern charity, and given myself more space in my drawers!
It looks although I have some new goals;
Find a creative outlet and course to go with it
Keep on going to the gym
Stop drinking for the meantime
A reminder of what I have achieved recently;
Improved my CV
Tidied my room and getting rid of my junk
Getting on better with my mum
Passing my exams
Joining the gym and I have been 3 times so far this week
Saving money by bringing in lunch, not drinking so much and not eating out so much
So far so good!
I am pleased I started this blog as it is great to see what you can achieve over a week, I feel proud!!
Wednesday, 13 February 2008
I've got great news! I signed up to get free life coaching sessions and I got them!! WOOOO!!
This should help me work towards my goals, and help me figure out ways to help me work towards them.
I also went to the gym last Friday, went dancing on Saturday and saw my godaugher Willow on Sunday and went to the park in the lovely sunshine.
Monday morning I went and did yoga at the gym. I have bought lunch in everyday to work to save money and will be going to the gym this evening. I feel like I am achieving a lot.
I have decided that I need to do creative things in my life so I will be signing up to a short creative course.
In short this week seems to be good and I am very pleased with myself....I even went out for a meal last night and didn't have any alcohol!
Monday, 4 February 2008
I didn't drink any alcohol, which I am very glad about - that means 8 days without drinking. I watched several films; Family Guy, Undead, Half Nelson, Thirteen, Cat Return oh and UltraViolet.
I went and had some toast in the place on Clapham High Street, where you can make your own toast and they have a really good selection of bread to choose from.
On Sunday we stayed in all day, relaxed and had Domino's pizza for lunch.
So I succeeded in passing my exams and getting a certificate. I made a plan for the courses that I want to take at the Open University and I set up my gym membership today.....
Thats a few that are being worked towards!
This evening I am going to help Aaron apply for this provisional driving licence, tidy my room a but more and do some yoga!
Wooooo.....feeling very positivex

Thursday, 31 January 2008
I was nearly late for work but walked as fast as I could, with the great wind behind me to help me along and I was on time! Woohoo. When I got into work I realised someone had stolen my bowl. Yes that's right my bowl, a bit like a grown-up version of goldie locks and the 3 bears, apart from mummy bear gets a lot more grisly when she realises someones been eating from her bowl.
Eventually the bowl was found and returned to its rightful owner.
Work was hectic today, which made it go faster and I had the wonderful treat of Aaron taking me to the Peppertree, a Thai restaurant on Clapham High Street. I really do like it there, the food is reasonably priced, tastes great, comes quickly and the staff are lovely.
The weather made work a little less bareable, but I won't get into that.
I got home made a cauliflower and potato curry with peas (I'm sure this has a proper name, but I'm not sure what it is). Hurriedly yammed it down and then went and sat in mums room to watch master chef - which I do aspire to be on someday, in fact maybe I should apply soon.
My bath after master chef was lovely, I put a lush bath bomb in it which smelt divine and made my skin all soft!
And now I am sitting in bed and its time to go to sleep.
Tomorrow I plan to get up early do yoga and make spaghetti bolognese so that it tastes great when I get home, and watch a DVD whilst eating it.
Things I have achieved recently;
Passing my PA course with distinction
Improving my typing skills
Keeping my bedroom tidy
Walking further than usual everyday
Trying hard to get on with my mother
Not watching too much TV
My goals for the near future;
Improve my CV
Take my typing and audio typing exam
Sell more items on eBay
Join the gym and go at least twice a week!
To dance and sing more often
Pay off all my debts
Main goals for future
Travel around the world; see orangutans
To pass my degree and put it to good use
Have a child or children before the age of 30 (preferbably 28 or so)
Run and succeed in my own business
Buy a home...
Right then plenty to get started with and this blog will be my diary of day-to-day life and how I come about achieving these goals....
